InForm Web Design is proud to announce it has won a UK Web Award. InForm received the award of First Runner-up ‘Best Non-Commercial Website’ for Cats Online – the website it designed and developed for leading UK animal welfare charity, Cats Protection.
The UK Web Awards are sponsored by Yell (British Telecom’s Online directory of UK Web Sites), The Computer Channel and .net magazine. The glittering Award Ceremony was held at BAFTA on the 17th July and hosted by Emma Forbes and Will Hanrahan, with the awards being presented by Sir Peter Bonfield, Chief Executive, BT. The entire event was televised and broadcast on The Computer Channel on the 23rd July and a booklet about the event was produced and published with the August edition of .net magazine. Attending for Cats Protection were Alison Swann (Editor of The Cat) and Ian Fenton (Managing Director of InForm).
“On behalf of all at InForm we would like to say a huge congratulations to Cats Protection for their win. Developing Cats Online has been a lot of fun as well as hard work from all sides. It’s fantastic when a great partnership results in an award winning site – thanks to everyone who voted. This is a great achievement for InForm Web Design – long may it continue!”
All nominations started off with the Internet user. For six months, visitors to the Yell site were asked to nominate their favourite web site in one of ten categories: Best Commercial Site; Best Non-Commercial Site; Most Innovative Site; Best Design; Best On-Line Publication; Best Personal Site; Readers’ Choice; Best Academic Site; Best Web Design Agency; Site of the Year.
These nominations were then shortlisted by Richard Longhurst and his crew at .net magazine and these shortlisted sites were judged by a distinguished panel who were selected from across the Internet industry.

The judges comments about Cats Online were:
“I love The Cats Protection site simply because it’s idiosyncratic, it’s wacky and it’s beautiful. They’ve taken a lot of care over the photography and technically it’s a pretty high-level site.”
Jerry Fielder, Leagas Delaney
“A fun and informative site that you’ll keep coming back to. InForm Web Design have produced a top quality site that competes with the biggest brand sites.”
Andrew Lees – Internet Group Director, Microsoft UK
“The Cats Protection website is a non-commercial site but is designed with all the professionalism and care of the very top commercial sites.”
Richard Longhurst, Editor .net Magazine.
